Kerivoula picta picta
The adult body weight ranges between 4.0 to 6.0 grams. It is a small bat. The wings have bright reddish and black bands and the body is reddish yellow in colour; this character makes this bat unmistakable and so it is rightly called the ‘painted bat’. The ears are funnel shaped and the tragus is long and narrow. During flight it resembles a butterfly. This bat is difficult to track down.
